Which nationalities are eligible to enter Vietnam using an electronic visa?
From August 15, 2023, according to Resolution No. 127/NQ-CP, e-visas is issued to citizens of all countries and territories. Besides, Vietnam also added a number of border gates to accept foreigners entering by E-Visa.
Visa Exemption
Vietnam currently has a visa waiver program, apart from tourists’ visa exemptions for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Vietnam also offers a 45-day visa exemptions for visitors from the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden.
As of January 2022, citizens holding regular passports from 25 countries are no longer required to obtain a visa to enter Vietnam. Here is the complete list of countries eligible for Vietnam visa exemption:

Vietnam Expands 45-Day Visa Waiver to 12 More EU Countries
Vietnam has officially expanded its visa-free entry program, granting citizens from 12 additional European countries the ability to stay in the country for up to 45 days without a visa.
The new policy will be effective from August 15, 2025, through August 14, 2028, and forms part of Vietnam’s broader strategy to stimulate international tourism and attract more long-haul travelers from Europe.
Under this expansion, travelers holding passports from the following countries are now eligible for the 45-day visa exemption:
- Belgium
- Bulgaria
- Croatia
- Czech Republic
- Hungary
- Luxembourg
- Netherlands
- Poland
- Romania
- Slovakia
- Slovenia
- Switzerland
This move is expected to make travel to Vietnam more convenient for European visitors, encouraging longer stays and increased tourism activity across the country.
